Portraits and Figuratives

In my portrait and figurative work, I try to capture a specific, characteristic look, gesture or pose. I particularly enjoy drawing with charcoal – I love the expressive contrasts I can achieve with this medium.

In my paintings, I mainly use oil paints. Here, I particularly like to experiment with different color palettes and a thick and pasty application of paint with a palette knife.
